A recognized voice in the construction industry, Joel Lipsky founded Virtual Construction Assistants after seeing the same problem on every job site: skilled contractors buried in paperwork instead of building.
VCA exists to give that time back. We pair growing construction businesses with industry-trained virtual professionals who actually understand the work. Joel brings more than 15 years of field and operational experience directly into every placement decision VCA makes.

Joel Lipsky holds a degree in Construction Management from the University of North Florida. After graduating, he went on to build a career across some of the most demanding construction environments in the country, accumulating hands-on experience in cost engineering, financial auditing, field superintendency, project management, and federal contracting.
He eventually returned to New York to lead the family’s third-generation general contracting firm, where he oversaw landmark projects including the award-winning reconstruction of the Nathaniel Rogers House, which received the Jeffrey J. Zogg Build New York Award, the highest construction honor in New York State.
In 2020, Joel founded Virtual Construction Assistants to solve a problem he had lived firsthand. Every construction business he had ever worked with was losing valuable time to administrative work that could be handled remotely, by someone who actually understood construction. VCA is the solution he built to fix that.
Joel’s contributions to the construction industry have been honored by the nation’s leading trade associations and acknowledged on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Joel is not just a builder. He is an active voice shaping the policies, workforce strategies, and industry standards that determine where construction goes next. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Associated General Contractors of New York State and chairs its Next Generation Construction Council, a body focused on modernizing how the industry develops and retains talent.
In 2024, Joel testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Small Business Subcommittee on behalf of small and mid-size construction firms, addressing the real operational impacts of federal contracting policy and supply chain disruption. That same perspective informs how VCA is built: practical, field-informed, and designed to serve businesses that are actually doing the work.
